1. Click Start 
2. Type "Notepad"
3. Click Enter
or
1. Click Start -> all programs -> accessories -> Notepad

Windows 8 
1. Type "Notepad" on Start Screen
2. Click on Notepad to open it
On the Metro Start screen, type: notepad
•    Notepad will appear on the left of your screen
•    Click Notepad to open it

Windows 10
1. Click Start
2. All Apps
3. Windows Accessories
4. Click Notepad
